New wings coming soon!
Villingen-Schwenningen. Patrick Berod and Vincent Sprüngli joined the U-Turn-Team. Both French sportsmen are among the world´s best competition pilots. Berod once won the PG World Cup, Sprüngli is well known for his X-Alps-performances. “Patrick and Vincent got in contact with our gliders through our French importer Dezair, and they´ve been thrilled about the safety and performance right after the first flight” U-Turn Co-founder Thomas Vosseler remembers.

Now the duo has started three collective projects along with U-Turn designer Ernst Strobl. They will develop a new competition wing (AIR FORCE II), a DHV 2- wing for cross-country and a very special canopy for competitions like the X-alps. First work is already done, Patrick Berod did first test-flights in Mauritius with a prototype of the AIR FORCE II. “We set benchmarks in safety with our four DHV-1-gliders with the AFS-system, the G-FORCE and MORPHEUS are unrivaled in acro-gliding, and now we will address the market for high-performance competition and XC-gliders” Strobl says.

This film captures all the action and adventure as Alex Hofer defends his title, hiking and flying from Austria, through the Italian Dolomites, past the fearsome Eiger in Switzerland, France's Mt Blanc and on to Monaco. The race goes on day and night, sun or snow.

Truly awesome scenery, incredible up-close flying footage shot from helicopter and POV camera angles, and insight into a world of pain few of us would dare contemplate. Essential viewing!

XCertina Bag Mk II
It’s an accepted fact nowadays that the way you pack and store your paraglider directly affects its longevity and performance. Careless packing creases and damages the crucial Mylar sections that reinforce the internal cell walls at the front of the wing. These sections are crucial in forming the clean leading edge profile that your glider needs to get the maximum performance out of its design. Concertinaing your wing is the surest way to protect the integrity of your leading edge, but until now it’s been an awkward and time consuming task that is difficult on your own and almost impossible in a strong wind.
The new XCertina Bag is the quick and easy solution to the problem. It’s quicker than the conventional packing system and retains the longevity and performance of your wing over time. It’s the easiest way to pack up in a strong wing, and better still it’s the simplest and quickest way to unpack and get ready to fly.

Depth is 1/4 inches (0.7 cm). (Replaceable blades can be purchased separately).

UTurn Alpine Peak is here!

If the ALPINE PEAK were a top model, it would no longer be allowed on the catwalk, as the very thin ones are no longer welcome there. But sometimes less is more like with the ALPINE PEAK. The new lightweight by U-Turn with DHV-1 classification has not an ounce too much on the V-ribs.

The latest developement of Ernst Strobl, Head of U-Turn design, refers specifically to mountain climbers and other close-to-nature pilots, who like to drag their glider up the mountain, before they take off. All other pilots can take advantage of the lightweight construction as well, of course. First and foremost the absolutely uncomplicated take off attitude deserves mentioning: the ALPINE PEAK doesn't even know shooting foreward through hearsay, the easy filling of the canopy" is remarkably even and the take off remarkably uncomplicated.

In the air the ALPINE PEAK convinces through high passive security because the lighter materials approach the system of the AFS a smidgen more delicately. Also the efficiency is improved compared to the Emotion, which it derived from. The Alpine Peak is a touch faster and a little more direct and ascends a bit better in the thermal- which is not a surprise as the low masses achieve appropriate impact.

The new glider sets on Skytex 36 (40%) in the upper sail, the rest is made up of Skytex 27. Except for the slim design stripe, which is made of the 36 material, the Skytex 27 is exclusively applied in the lower sail. Also the V-ribs (except of the line sets) and the V-tapes are manufactured of the 27 cloth. The riser is made of 12 millimeter Kevlar and the Liros lines represent an optimal mix of weight reduction and stability.

The ALPINE PEAK is available in the sizes:

XS (3,9 kg/ 50-80 kg take off weight),
S (4,3 kg/ 60-90 kg),
M (4,8kg/ 80-110 kg) and
L (5,2kg/ 100-130 kg).
