What's new this week?

Deimos Paragliding is proud to welcome MAC Para to our family of paragliding products. Their first wing (called the Blizzard, a competition wing) was released in 1992, with a glide ratio of 5.8; and now they have one of the best competition and DHV 2-3 wings in the market – Glide ratio 9.7+. Recently, Greg Blondeau flying a Magus 6, has dominated in this difficult competition from the first task, and is now Europe Paragliding Champion for 2008!

Special Discount:
For just one next week, you will receive a $500 discount off any MAC PARA wing, and a further discount off any MAC PARA harness or accessories. All you have to do to earn this discount is to let us test fly your gear (one flight).

This discount offer ends Aug 31, 2008.

UTurn Alpine Peak is here!

If the ALPINE PEAK were a top model, it would no longer be allowed on the catwalk, as the very thin ones are no longer welcome there. But sometimes less is more like with the ALPINE PEAK. The new lightweight by U-Turn with DHV-1 classification has not an ounce too much on the V-ribs.

The latest developement of Ernst Strobl, Head of U-Turn design, refers specifically to mountain climbers and other close-to-nature pilots, who like to drag their glider up the mountain, before they take off. All other pilots can take advantage of the lightweight construction as well, of course. First and foremost the absolutely uncomplicated take off attitude deserves mentioning: the ALPINE PEAK doesn't even know shooting foreward through hearsay, the easy filling of the canopy" is remarkably even and the take off remarkably uncomplicated.

In the air the ALPINE PEAK convinces through high passive security because the lighter materials approach the system of the AFS a smidgen more delicately. Also the efficiency is improved compared to the Emotion, which it derived from. The Alpine Peak is a touch faster and a little more direct and ascends a bit better in the thermal- which is not a surprise as the low masses achieve appropriate impact.

The new glider sets on Skytex 36 (40%) in the upper sail, the rest is made up of Skytex 27. Except for the slim design stripe, which is made of the 36 material, the Skytex 27 is exclusively applied in the lower sail. Also the V-ribs (except of the line sets) and the V-tapes are manufactured of the 27 cloth. The riser is made of 12 millimeter Kevlar and the Liros lines represent an optimal mix of weight reduction and stability.

The ALPINE PEAK is available in the sizes:

XS (3,9 kg/ 50-80 kg take off weight),
S (4,3 kg/ 60-90 kg),
M (4,8kg/ 80-110 kg) and
L (5,2kg/ 100-130 kg).

Breath-taking project: MMK will jump off
a flying zeppelin as a world´s first

Villingen-Schwenningen. MadMikeKüng realizes a new and spectacular project: As the first man MMK will jump off a flying zeppelin with a paraglider. The event takes place on the 25th of May in Lindau at Lake Constance.

Mike Küng´s list of records is impressive. The paraglider pilot from Schruns in Vorarlberg holds the world record in height, after he jumped off of a hot-air balloon in 10.100 meters. As the first and still only paraglider pilot he crossed the English Channel without an engine. As the only pilot so far MMK succeeded to cross the continent with the paraglider from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea within five days. Spectacular jumps like the one from the Europe bridge at the Brennerautobahn or the one in the former Cargolifter-hall near Berlin caused worldwide sensation.

And now the jump off the flying zeppelin. Of course, he will perform the jump as a head-over. A cool performance, which requires the highest flying ability, immense mental capacity and perfect body control. In this ambitious project MadMike trusts again in the FREE FORCE by U-Turn. With its fast opening and the direct handling the agile glider already provided MMK with outstanding support at spectacular activities such as the Europe Bridge and the Cargolifter hall.

The drawer, a zeppelin NT 07 of the latest generation, has a length of 78 meters. At a width of 19,5 meters and a height of 17,4 meters the zeppelin is one of the world's most impressive aircrafts. Powered by two Lycoming engines with each 200 PS, the zeppelin is able to be in the air for 24 hours and reach a height of up to 2600 meters.

The jump is scheduled on sunday the 25th of May in a two-hour time-frame between 9 and 11 a.m. The zeppelin will navigate about 200 meters in front of the island Lindau and about 300 meters west of the port entrance to drop MMK, who will land on a passenger liner in the middle of the dock.
