Tandem
Flights with 4 X 4 Truck Adventure
Your adventure starts with a short off road truck climb to the launch site (20-40 minutes).
Flight type :
one high tandem flight
Prerequisites: Minimum
age is 18,
maximum is 65,
maximum weight 240lbs.
If you have a history of a bad back,
ankle or knee injury, you should consider going lawn bowling instead.
Landing can be quite hard sometimes. You must also be ready to
run fast (more than 22 kph) while taking off.
Equipment needed: Boots
with good traction and adequate clothing (winter jacket).
Course Outline: As
a passenger, you will be required to run at takeoff and landing,
but our HPAC certified pilot will fully control the flight, including
takeoff and landing. For those passengers who want to continue
and learn to fly solo, they may be allowed to steer the paraglider
during the flight (depending on conditions).
Special Notes: The
cost of this adventure flight may be applied to the Novice rating
or Solo V, X, XV course.
How do I start?
Most tandem flight are done on the
weekend (weather permitting)- please complete our
reservation form specifying when you plan to join us.
To save time, we ask that all tandem
passengers read over the waivers shown below.
What happens
on the day of my reservation?
All students and tandem passengers call
604 418-7328 (at 8am) to confirm the weather and meeting details,
then we meet at either Exit 92 (McDonalds) , Exit
95 (Tim Horton's Whatcom Rd), or the Bridal
Falls LZ (Exit 135) at 10am (sometimes later). (It takes about
1:15 hour to drive to Exit 135 from Vancouver.) Once at Bridal
Falls LZ we check the flying conditions again. If it looks flyable,
we will drive up the to Take Off (15 minutes in a Deimos 4x4 truck).
Depending on conditions, an instructor or advanced pilot launches
first, then our students, followed by the tandem pilots and their
passengers. Tandem flights can be between ten minutes to one hour
long (depending on the strength of the lift). Eventually we float
down to the LZ landing next to the cars. This process, from the
time we meet, takes about two to three hours. If conditions are
still safe, we then head back up the mountain for more flights.
In some cases, tandem guests may be welcome to join us for the
4x4 truck ride back up. We recommend that all pilots provide their
own food and drinks for the day, however we usually stop at the
local gas station for drinks and snacks. To save time, we would
appreciate that all passengers and guests complete our two page
waiver before you arrive at the meeting place.

Helicopter
Adventure with Tandem Flight
Your adventure starts with a short helicopter
flight up the peak of Cheam Mt (7000') followed by an incredible
tandem paraglide flight.
Flight type :
one VERY high flight.
Prerequisites: Minimum
age is 18,
maximum is 65,
maximum weight 240lbs.
If you have a history of a bad back,
ankle or knee injury, you should consider going lawn bowling instead.
Landing can be quite hard sometimes. You must also be ready to
run fast (more than 22 kph) while taking off.
Equipment needed: Boots
with good traction and adequate clothing - at 7000' the temperature
is around 5 degrees C, so dress warm.
Course Outline: As
a passenger, you will be required to run at takeoff and landing,
but our HPAC certified pilot will fully control the flight, including
takeoff and landing. For those passengers who want to continue
and learn to fly solo, they may be allowed to steer the paraglider
during the flight (depending on conditions). If conditions are
unsafe to land at Cheam peak, the next option is Upper Bridal
launch (around 4500 ' AGL). If this site is also not safe, we
will be forced to land back at the airport - in this case there
will be a $100 refund.

Heli tandem flights are available all year round.

Vario
& Tandem Flight
Flight type :
one high flight up to half an hour
long.
Prerequisites:
General good health. Maximum weight
240lbs. Passenger must have at least ten solo high flights.
Special Notes:
Includes a Flytec 6005 Vario,
other varios are possible.
Equipment needed:
Boots with good traction and adequate
clothing.
Course Outline: As
a passenger, you will be required to run at takeoff and landing,
but our HPAC certified pilot will fully control the flight, including
takeoff and landing. Once enough height has been gained, you will
be allowed to thermal as high as possible.

Guaranteed to advance your skills by as
much as thirty flights.
This includes a tandem flight with emphasis on finding and centering
